Renovation, Pool + Landscaping
Seawash House- With all hands on deck (architect, owner and builder) this beachfront home located in Northern NSW was renovated to create open planned spaces with separate office areas and bedrooms. Existing flooring was re worked and topped so concrete could be given a burnished effect. The main living area merges on to a large timber balcony via floor to ceiling retractable glass sliding doors to create a relaxed holiday atmosphere with uninterrupted views of the beach from all areas. Minimal external finishes including hardwood timbers & western red cedar claddings were incorporated to cope with the extreme harsh location of this architectural home. Due to the custom built nature of this project Benchmark Building Projects worked closely with the architect and owners to deliver detailed finishes of the highest quality. Internal finishes include glass walls in the bathrooms and corian bench tops and finishes throughout the house, plywood has been used for selected ceiling linings. The close proximity of this home to the breaking waves of the ocean was a major factor in the planning of the project. Local council’s restriction of the site located in a coastal erosion zone did not permit any changes made to the footprint of the building, hence extensive re-modelling & renovation of the existing home was required for Seawash house.
